Workers

It's been two weeks of madness. Workers have come in, taken over my house and left with me dust, dust and yep, you guessed it. More dust. Two bathrooms and two new floors later I'm still finding dust. One more week left and it should be good to go…
Still trying to find a way of putting pictures on so, I'm sorry for a un-colourful couple of posts :(
Wishing you a dust free Sunday!

The room for me

I spend quite a lot of time trawling the magic of internet to find ideas for my dream house. Laughable considering I'm the type of person who moves constantly but maybe if I did have my dream house I would hang around more :)

Here are just a few loved images of mine…what are yours?

More envy...

More house envy I'm afraid…I can't seem to get enough of people and their interior flare…

The grey with the vivid colors makes me WANT to live here…

and this…would work perfectly in the climate I live in!

What's new colour cat?

It's all about prints for me this week and especially prints in blue and red. I'm finding most of the stuff I'm looking at has a middle eastern theme to it. Me loves it!

I found these amazing envelopes in the back of a drawer in my Mother's house and, like the next oldie, I am a huge fan of writing letters, receiving letters...generally anything that you can rip open with hand written fronts (ha to you bills!)

And these fabrics....yum! I'm already picturing myself in front of my trusty sewing machine ready to make cushions to be put on big rattan pillows in the gardens...oh, summer how I adore thee

Are you getting a middle eastern vibe yet? I just love this old quite rough around the edges fabric that I totally forgot my mother has...and luckily for me, clever lady has decided to make it into one of those foot things to rest your weary soles.

I'm not sure what this was or is because all I have managed to find was a square of this paper...wallpaper maybe?

This on the other hand I know for shizzle that it's wallpaper, the problem being i have no idea who made it (hopefully makes it still!). If anyone out there knows can you help me out as I desperately want more...thanks!

What are your favorite prints this week?

What have I been doing with my life so far?

So I figured that I should really start off with what I've been doing for the past 3 years of my life. It all started with a phone call beckoning me to Mexico to renovate a baby hacienda, turning it into a luxury self sustainable hotel / guest house.
And that´s what I did, with absolutely no background in building, design, decor, or eco-friendliness I dove straight in. It has been a tough 3 years I can tell you, but at last we opened and people love it.
We are 100% solar powered, recycle all of our water, grow our own organic produce as well as all those little things that you won´t notice to make us eco friendly and sustainable...
You can see how different it is now compared to when I arrived, stunned into silence (does not happen often I can tell you) by the fact from the gate I couldn´t even see the main house...but now look..we have a drive way and everything!
Enjoy and if you like what you see, pass us on..maybe you`ll come visit us one day!
